Felt: An Understory

Participants wear a pulse sensor. Each one is given a bloom in the projection, and that bloom swells and brightens on every heartbeat, then eases back. Nothing is labeled and no one is named.

When one person's heart rate rises above the others, the remaining blooms drift about a third of the way toward theirs over roughly six seconds, then return. The system moves attention toward whoever needs support without singling them out.

The visuals are practically filmed watercolor blooms composited live in TouchDesigner, not algorithmic particles. Built in two forms that share one pipeline: a research version performed with a live sound bath by Danielle Hall, and a self-guided gallery version.
